The focus of this book is achieving success through the pursuit of fulfillment. The book discusses the fact that much of our society and our economic structure is designed on a meritocracy. If you’re not familiar with what that is, it means a merit based structure in which there is zero-sum situation or one person wins and one person loses. Except in our society we actually work on a negative some structure which means very few people are given the opportunities and therefore many lose!!!
This is easiest to understand when you look at Ivy League schools and universities. Tens of thousands of people will apply and only a few will be excepted. Therefore when one person gets excepted thousands of others lose or do not. We are supposed to live in a society where everyone is afforded the same opportunities but the truth of the matter is that’s not how it works…
This book does an excellent job of talking about the age that we are entering right now which can change everything; the Age of Personalization in which each person pursues their own fulfillment based on their own personal passions and measure of their own growth and success….
This is a fantastic book which I suggest everyone read especially if you feel that you’re not living up to your potential and find yourself comparing yourself to the success of others. Everyone is on their own personal journey and this book does a great job of giving insights on how to do that successfully!!!
